It started in Phuket, Thailand. In 2013, Doug joined forces with the Jiu Jitsu Brotherhood on "Spirit of Jiu Jitsu" — and when the film took off, the sequel took him to Japan: "The Soul of Jiu Jitsu", shot in late 2016 and still the film people ask about.
In between came the fight years: embedded at Mike Swick's AKA Thailand, producing the "Real Quick" docuseries, following Soa Palelei's camp for UFC 190, athlete films for Bellator and ONE Championship fighters, and footage that ran on the Joe Rogan Experience (#714) with John Wayne Parr.
Now Doug is home in the Northern Rivers — shooting brand films for Mount Warning Mineral Water, SuperFeast and Soilife, gym stories for Flying Squirrel BJJ in Murwillumbah, and anything with a pulse across the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast.
Crew size: one (it's enough). Gear: 4K cinema and aerial. Ego: left in Thailand.
